Potabilization
The purification of water for human consumption includes various water transformation processes, depending on the contaminants found in the water to be treated.
In surface water from rivers, lakes and other springs, it is usually necessary to lower high levels of suspended solids, turbidity, color and eventually content of some metals such as iron and manganese. When it comes to groundwater, it is possible to find contaminants such as arsenic, iron and manganese and varied contents of dissolved solids.
On the other hand, it is possible to obtain drinking water through the desalination of seawater, or brackish water with high salt content.
